Maxine MacGillivray

As a child, I would love to entertain my younger sister with stories I had written. This love of writing and entertaining others, has only grown over time.

 

Now, with over twenty years’ experience working with children as a social worker, and having successfully home-schooled my own two children, I have a real value for education through literature.

 

This value and my graduate diploma in education, has allowed me to pursue writing in a purposeful way. I hope that by aligning my books with the Australian Curriculum, teachers and parents will be supported to use them interactively, encouraging children’s curiosity and learning through inquiry.

 

I had fun, playing with words and the English language. I hope that this fosters children’s enjoyment of learning and exploring ways language features, convey ideas. My paintings, were designed to pique interest, create questions and show that messages can be expressed in a variety of ways.
